Yesterday marked the launch of a new initiative in Music City named “Nashville Tech Gives Back (#615TechDrive).”

Powered by AllianceBernstein and organized by two entities – Build In SE and the Nashville Entrepreneurship Week, the effort is designed to leverage Nashville’s growing tech community – start-up Chief Executive Officers, Founders, Venture Capitalists and ecosystem executives – to support local non-profits doing important work in the community. Starting yesterday and continuing through Saturday, the organizers are asking those in the Nashville tech community to participate in #615TechDrive’s first effort by making a donation (monetary, tangible goods, or time) to one of 15 selected non-profit partners.

Monique Villa, one of the Founders of Build In SE, explained the initiative this way: “2020 was hard for Nashville with the March tornado, COVID-19 closures, then Christmas Day bombing right as we found ourselves on the home stretch looking ahead to 2021. Each of these devastating events made headlines while having a lasting impact locally, as our neighbors and friends lost homes, businesses, jobs and loved ones.”
